When I was a kid, we learned that you stick the extra "s" on a possessive if you sound it out in speech (as in "Jesus's") but not if you don't sound it out (as in a plural possessive like "dogs'"). Since then I've seen all sorts of complicated style sheets on the subject.

You could always change to "The Clown of Jesus."
Jesus and Moses are the 2 exceptions to the 's rule. You pronunce the 's but don't spell it out.
The ancient Greeks have their own gig as well. With their names, you don't pronounce the plural: Demosthenes', Xerxes', etc.
I have ample time to contemplate these things, just hanging at home with the cats's.
Interesting. I bet that means that the King James Bible didn't use the trailing "s," and we're still following that precedent.
